A B O U T

Roberto B. "Tito" Valenzuela, was born in 1976 in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. His beginnings and encounters with art were at the young age of 8. It all started with drawings of superheroes on paper with carbon and ink at the printing shop owned by his grandfather. Later on, he came in contact with clay and other materials allowing him to make geometric shapes with different colors and textures.

By mixing colors and textures, he developed interest in bringing this onto canvas, and as of today creating abstract work is still his passion. His first art lessons were with his art teacher in middle school, followed by seminars and courses where he learned to incorporate different work techniques.

He belongs to different groups of artists and participated in competitions where his pieces were accepted  as a representation of what  abstract art is. He develops and collaborates with various projects of corporate presence and designs all sorts of names, logos, slogans, websites and management of social networking presence.

S T A T E M E N T

Passion, character, strength, movement, line, color and texture are transmitted in every area of my work. My idea of art is not based on any specific technique or line. While taking into consideration various aspects of composition, I actually let go of my natural and spontaneous impulses without necessarily restraining myself by any dictation or any rules created.

Much of my inspiration comes from music, incense, good friends, my children or my wife that always keeps me company with a great cup of coffee. The personal interaction, the opportunity to connect in every way and start something that does not necessarily end as it began is what I love about this process.

This process not only give me a place to have contact with different artistic means to translate freely, it also allows me to live different experiences, leading to that particular abstract expression that I’m seeking. I will conclude this short introduction of what my process is not before sharing what the word of God's says in Ecclesiastes 3: 1; "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. "That's my philosophy of life, and this is the product of it.”
